Two British tourists have been arrested in Majorca while trying to fly home – after allegedly leaving their holiday hotel without paying a £160 bill. The pair were put behind bars before having to shell out for new flights after being intercepted at Palma Airport and hauled to court to explain themselves. They ended up handing over the €192 they had allegedly tried to wriggle out of paying before being allowed to leave and buy new tickets home. A man who bought a house in Italy for under a pound after being inspired by a BBC property show says he has never been happier. George Laing, 31, was inspired by BBC 1’s Amanda and Alan’s Italian Job, where the pair renovated a house purchased for one euro, to do the same in the pretty Sicilian village of Mussomeli, Sicily. Under the 1 Euro Houses scheme, people can purchase buildings bequeathed to selected Italian councils for the symbolic sum of one euro. Money expert Martin Lewis has issued a warning over a ‘nasty’ charge being added to gas and electricity bills this summer. Customers at major energy firms like British Gas, EDF and EON have today been told that Ofgem is handing down a new, reduced price cap which takes effect from July 1. This incredible tunnel, which opened in April last year, is a milestone on Norway’s path towards a more environmentally friendly and sustainable city.  This 3,000-metre purpose-built pedestrian and cycle tunnel is the longest of its kind, stretching from the city centre of Bergen to Fyllingsdalen. A high-profile aristocrat says her 102-year-old uncle died at a care home with three inch toenails. Norbert Marshall, a retired jeweller, was 102 when he died after fracturing a hip in a fall at Plas Isaf Home in Rhos-on-Sea, Conway, North Wales. An inquest in Ruthin heard Lady Bristol said she was shocked when she saw his feet in hospital, reports the BBC. “His toes were blue, his nails were three inches long and he was very unkempt,” she said. “I had a shock when I saw him. A Majorcan beach resort has been struck by tragedy after the collapse of a building which has killed and injured multiple people. Four people have died and 16 have been seriously injured, with the toll expected to rise. Spanish media reports seven people are in a “very serious condition” with a further nine in a “serious condition”.
