UK weather maps show exactly when summer really starts and Brits will be furious | Weather | News

The latest weather maps show the exact date when the UK begins to warm up and Brits will not be happy about it.

Maps from WXCharts show weather conditions are not likely to change in the coming two weeks with the temperature levels staying around or below 18C for most of the parts of the country.

At present, the country is going through interchangeable weather with many parts witnessing wet and windy weather as they hope for dry and warm conditions.

Scottish highlands this week are likely to experience colder temperatures as Arctic air moves from the north to the country.

As per the latest maps from WXCharts, the southern parts of the country will see 24C on June 22 and before that it’s going stay a bit low, crushing the hopes of many.

A Met Office spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “There is however the chance of some wintry showers over 800m in elevation over the Scottish mountains this week as colder air from the north is in place.

“This could fall as hail, sleet or wet snow and is unlikely to settle due to the land surface temperature at this time of year.”

Jim Dale, a weather expert from British Weather Services also told The Express: “It’s going to get cold to cool certainly for now and next several days – within an Arctic airstream.”

The Met Office’s long-range forecast between June 11 and June 20 also suggests wet conditions in some parts of the country with temperature levels likely to stay below normal.

It reads: “A general continuation initially, of sunshine and showers for many areas, the odd one could be heavy across the south. Thereafter a build of pressure will probably bring settled conditions across the country for a few days, with dry, sunny conditions prevailing.

“While confidence in the timing of any change of type is uncertain, from the middle of the week towards the weekend dry conditions may start to decline with a greater chance of more unsettled weather developing.

“Should this happen, wettest conditions are likely to be in the north and west, with driest weather in the south and east.

“There is still a chance that drier conditions could remain in place more widely. Temperatures likely to be near or slightly below average at first, perhaps slightly above normal later.”

Today:

A band of showers across Northern Ireland and central Scotland will gradually move southeastwards today. To the north a continuation of sunshine and blustery showers, with many southern areas dry with sunny spells. Feeling cool in the brisk breeze.

Tonight:

Further blustery showers across the north, most frequent across northwestern Scotland. Mainly dry elsewhere, but rather cloudy across central and western areas. Turning chilly in the east under clear skies.

Saturday:

Band of cloud and showers across central areas easing away throughout the day. Otherwise a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, these frequent and blustery across the north.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Remaining cool and showery throughout Sunday and Monday, with the potential for a more prolonged spell of rain for a time in the northwest. Drier in the west on Tuesday.
