Gardeners accuse council of ruining crops by fitting ‘woke’ well | UK | News

Angry allotment holders claim their crops have been ruined after a council installed a £20,000 solar-powered well to save water. The hi-tech borehole was put in as an alternative to using mains water as part of a mission to become more eco-friendly due to the “climate emergency”. Slammed as a “woke idea that doesn’t work” by one grower, it was installed by Dover Council, in Kent, without any consultation – and smallholders say it has not been supplying enough water. Woke agenda shunned as poll shows what world’s priorities really are | Politics | News

An elitist odor filled the New York air this week, as presidents and prime ministers gathered at the United Nations General Assembly. They mostly pontificated and propagandized in sync with the ultra-woke, statist UN’s perennial push for greater government control of our economic, cultural, and social lives. For the UN, unaccountable, top-down global decision making by unelected ‘experts’ remains de rigueur. Transparent, bottom-up, nation-based democratic decision-making remains beyond the pale. Nevertheless, a breath of fresh analytical air blew across Manhattan on Monday. The release of the FII PRIORITY Compass 2024 report, an FII Institute publication, provided welcome relief from the ... He warned that getting to net zero was costing “billions of pounds more than it needs to” without these improvements.
