Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s neighbour in Montecito claims that he was surprised to find out the couple had moved there and revealed that the neighbourhood typically attracts older residents.

Discussing his surprise over having Meghan and Harry – as well as their two young children – in the neighbourhood, he said: “It’s where the elephants come to die”.

Speaking to the Montecito Journal, Frank McGinity, 88, claimed: “It’s surprising they came here. People are typically older. It’s where the elephants come to die. We don’t see them very much around here.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex eventually relocated to America after stepping down as senior working royals in 2020.

The US Navy veteran firmly stated “they’re not interested” in being neighbours after he tried to deliver some films about the area when he learned the couple had moved in. He claimed their security turned him away.
