Israel Hamas war LIVE: Hamas terrorists ‘killed families in their beds’ | World | News

The Kfar Aza kibbutz in southern Israel was home to some 750 people before Hamas launched its horrific attack on Saturday.

The village was one of the first to experience the violence of the militants on the weekend and, while homes had safe rooms and the kibbutz was protected by security, it was not prepared for the spate of violence that hit it.

Speaking about what the Israeli military found after they managed to liberate Kfar Aza from Hamas terrorists, Maj Gen Itai Veruv of the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) told the BBC: “Mothers, fathers, babies, young families killed in their beds, in the protection room, in the dining room, in their garden. It’s not a war, it’s not a battlefield. It’s a massacre.”

Hamas was so quick in its attack on this village that milk and coffee prepared for breakfast on Saturday were reportedly still found on the table by soldiers and journalists who later entered one ravaged home.

Hamas’ attacks on the weekend have killed at least 1,300 Israelis. The retaliatory Israeli air strikes that followed on the Gaza Strip, from where the terror group launched its assault, have killed at least 1,100 Palestinians.
