  Carl Schlesinger (1825-1893) was a skilled painter from Switzerland and Germany known for his artwork depicting everyday scenes and landscapes. He began learning to paint in Hamburg under the guidance of Gerdt Hardorff and Hermann Kauffmann. Later, he studied at the Prague Academy with Christian Ruben. In 1850, he moved to Antwerp to complete his training. By 1852, Schlesinger settled in Düsseldorf, where his brother Felix, also a painter, had studied. He joined the Malkasten artists’ association and became a member of the Hamburg Artists’ Association in 1832. Throughout his career, Schlesinger traveled extensively for inspiration.
