Charles Courtney was an American Impressionist painter and was born in 1861 and later in 1881 moved to place called Sandusky, Ohio. He studied for one year at design school in Cincinnati named Cincinnati School of Design and afterwards, started a promising and brilliant career and got himself enrolled in the National Academy of Design after moving to New York City in 1882.
